Full Time Writer… but I’ll probably have to keep my normal job.
November 2nd, 2009
This is my first post as a full time writer. That’s me. When people ask what I do, that’s what I tell them – I’m a writer, I say. It’s less humiliating than saying I’m unemployed, although it amounts to basically the same thing. But I’m serious about meeting the deadline for the first draft of my next book, and so I write. At the moment, it’s my only job. The race is on – will my dwindling savings remain, or will I require a job before completion of the M.S.? (That’s writer speak for “Manuscript.” See? I’m learning the lingo and everything!) Perhaps I should take a reality lesson from the Flight of Concords and be a Part Time Writer, but I should probably keep my normal job. (If you don’t get that joke, watch VIDEO HERE… OK, the reference is a stretch. Also, yes, I write AND watch YouTube. Sue me.)
